Joli Coeur

The residential project "Joli Coeur" - Gartenresidenz Charlottenburg is located directly next to the gardens of Charlottenburg Palace. Approximately 700 apartments are being built here in several sections. From the historic walls of the former maternity hospital, Carlos Zwick Architects designed an ensemble with a balanced architectural and design language.

The construction project consists of the renovation, conversion and attic conversion of the listed building into apartments and individual commercial units. The old building as a whole is divided into three components: the west wing on Sophie-Charlotten-Strasse, the middle section along Mollwitzstrasse and the east wing on Heubnerweg. The former hospital garden on Mollwitzstraße is registered as a garden monument under the designation Krankenhausgarten in the Berlin monument list.

Bicon Generalplanung was entrusted with the construction management of the first 200 residential units for the first construction phase until 2016. The existing roof was partially removed in order to erect the new roof on top as a shell extension. Bicon was also responsible for the execution of special requests and the subsequent handover of the apartments to the buyers.
