Motel One Mannheim

In Mannheim, the post office is downsizing its rental space at Paradeplatz. The spacious vacant space is being converted into a Motel One. This will create 341 rooms on approximately 20,000 m². The listed building was gutted and a cube-shaped extension will be added to its spacious inner courtyard. The cube will be connected to the existing building by means of glazed bridge elements on the sides. In the past, there were various development approaches for the project, which WBRE accompanied in the interest of the tenant. Facade variants and possible uses of the lounge and the attic were intensively discussed and determined with the owner. Until the opening at the beginning of 2023, there are still many challenges in the optimization of a trouble-free construction process, in which WBRE supports the owner with project knowledge from other "Motel One" projects.
